Fall! Florida style =)

Nothing beats the season of flannel, pumpkin picking, a night being topped off with an inviting fire, and a warm cup of apple cider. Unless of course you live in South Florida where flannel gets thrown on for a picture, pumpkin picking turns into an extreme sport, the fire pit is for show until January, and your apple cider comes from the refrigerated section at Publix. Much like our harvest season is different from the rest of the county, so is our décor. We have some simple tips and tricks to make your home as crisp as the juiciest apple, yet as warm and cozy as your favorite pajamas. Lets do this Florida style with 5 spaces you can give fall a Florida twist.

Plastic, wooden, glass, woven, or ceramic pumpkins! You read that right. Pumpkins simply don’t do well with the heat, particularly ones that have been carved so leave those off the porch. To give your outdoor area a coastal yet festive design, add pumpkins with different shapes, sizes, and textures with the color scheme of white and hints of blue paired with organic materials. We absolutely love the way these woven pumpkins play off the ceramic, natural, and glass materials providing lots of character to the entrance of your home. Incorporating Natural materials such as burlap and rope, a few dry starfish or sand dollars, and a white, neutral, or light blue pumpkin or two.

Your entry table can make a gorgeous statement while appreciating Florida by pairing whites, blues, gold accents, along with greenery. The delicate and tasteful touch of fall is made by adding only one pumpkin to the space. This combination grants a sophisticated design that isn’t overwhelming and has just the perfect amount of each element to bring in coziness and hints of autumn while maintaining the peace and serenity of living off the coast.

With endless ways to spice up your table décor, a practical, yet beautiful design we like to use is a natural linen runner paired with earthy elements that bring all the senses together. We’ve added a riser with beautiful beads, candles on pillars for dimension, dried barley for texture, fresh greenery and flowers, and pumpkins, of course. This combination is simple, but always proves to be a conversation starter that captures lots of compliments. If you’re looking to add a coastal twist, our suggestion would be to use white or crème candles, white or neutral pumpkins, and add in a sea star or 2.

The orange and red marigolds paired with the amber colored glasses and gold charger plates bring fall to this table with out the typical pieces. You’ll see here there is no pumpkins or gourds to be seen but the beautiful mixture of fall colors is just enough. Florida shines through here with the pop of coral in the napkins and tablecloth.  A fun way to tie fall to the sunshine state  if you didn’t want the coastal feel.

If you’re wanting to keep your dining sets classy with a hint of nautical fall flare this place setting is for you. The charger plate gives the perfect blue backdrop to the real piece of art. A beautiful linen napkin with fringe helps it to feel not too formal and stuffy but beautiful and inviting. Tucked inside the napkin the silverware is paired with a piece of driftwood and white coral. The Napkin ring is where fall enters the picture with a classy silver pumpkin paired with some blue eucalyptus tying it all together with some nautical rope. Last the perfect white thankful sign as the cherry on top.
